Preschool Director with NAEYC accredited experience-Mandarin Speaking is required


Job Description:
  • To coordinate the daily operations of the School in compliance with state licensing and comply with applicable law and regulations.
  • To direct the work of others when applicable.
  • To establish the facility’s policy, program and budget.
  • To maintain financial records and school records.
  • To be a floating teacher when necessary.
  • To recruit, employ, train and evaluate qualified staff, and terminate employment of staff, if applicable to the facility.
  • To provide input in the selection, implementation and review of curriculum, equipment and resources.
  • To provide leadership, support and vision to the Tzu Chi Great Love Preschool.
  • To facilitate the development of school-wide vision, goal setting and positive school culture.
  • To correspond to Tzu Chi Philosophy of Humanity and Chinese culture.
  • To initiate opportunities for communication between parents, students, teachers, and all other school stakeholders.
  • To manage and direct safe school programs including emergency operations and student discipline.
  • To develop and implement relevant and meaningful professional development for instructional personnel.
  • To consistently supervise the implementation of Tzu Chi Bilingual/Character Education curriculum and guide teaching staff to insure a quality program.
  • To develop and implement relevant and meaningful professional development for instructional personnel.
  • To guide and encourage the activities of parents and Tzu Chi volunteers.
  • To maintain a professional relationship with all volunteers.
  • To develop and distribute monthly newsletters and yearly calendars.
  • To maintain the highest enrollment capacity and plan ongoing marketing strategies in the community.
  • To be in compliance with Tzu Chi dress code policy.
  • It is mandatory to attend all Tzu Chi meetings and trainings consistently.
  • To maintain confidentiality of the information regarding the children.
  • To perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Experience:

1. 4 years of teaching experience in a licensed center group child care program with 15 semester units at an accredited college in early childhood education classes. Three of the required units shall be in administration or staff relations and 12 units shall include courses that cover the area of child growth and development; child, family and community; and program/curriculum.
2. Operations Experience as a manager in a childcare setting or worked as a third level helping upfront in a preschool.
3. NAEYC accredited experience is required

Education Requirements:

BA/ BS or ECE Units in Early Childhood Education

Language Requirements:

Language proficiency in English
Mandarin speaking is required

Special Requirements:

1. Administration units in Early Childhood Education
2. Certificates: Pediatric (infant/toddler) CPR and First Aid certificate and 15 hours of health and safety training.
3. Licenses: Child Care Director License issued by California DFPS
4. MS Office, Windows XP

Salary:

Commensurate upon experience
